About SECOM and the SECOM Group
SECOM was founded in 1962 as the first security company in Japan. In 1966 we developed the first online security system for commercial use in Japan and built an infrastructure spanning the whole country.
In 1981 we launched Japan's first home security system and established a home consumer market. Currently, we have around 3.7 million subscribers as of September 30, 2023.
“The Social System Industry” vision was announced in 1989. Centering around our security services, the SECOM Group has expanded to include fire protection services, medical services, insurance services, geospatial information services, and BPO·ICT services. Based on a security network that fosters safety, we are tackling the creation of a new social infrastructure that wholly supports services and systems for security, convenience and comfort.
In addition, our international operations have established offices in 16 countries and territories, expanding into Taiwan, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
