PRESS RELEASE

SECOM Establishes New GHG Emissions Reduction Targets for FY2035
- Obtains SBT Validation for 1.5°C-Aligned Targets -

SECOM Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Yoshida) has obtained the validation from the international climate change initiative "SBTi" (Science Based Targets initiative), for the SECOM Group's newly established greenhouse gas reduction goals. The new goals were recognized as science-based and SBT validation was granted on May 11, 2026.

SECOM previously obtained SBT validation in 2021 for emissions reduction targets aligned with the well-below 2°C Target. This time, SECOM has newly obtained SBT validation for emissions reduction targets aligned with the more ambitious 1.5°C Target.

SCIENCE BASED TARGET DRIVING AMBITIOUS CORPRATE CLIMATE ACTION

Under the new targets, the SECOM Group aims to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 75% and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by FY2035, using FY2018 emissions as the baseline.

Through initiatives such as expanding the use of renewable energy and adoption of electric vehicles, we will proactively advance our efforts toward achieving these goals.

SECOM will continue to work closely with business partners and other stakeholders to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized and sustainable society.
