The Hakone Ekiden commercial “Cheering Voices from Across Japan” produced by SECOM CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Yoshida), has been awarded the Medalist Prize in the Film Advertising (Medium Length) category at the 63rd JAA

Advertising Awards—Consumer-Selected Competition, organized by the Japan Advertisers

Association (JAA), a public interest incorporated association.
The Hakone Ekiden, officially called the Tokyo–Hakone Round‑Trip College Ekiden Race, is a two‑day university relay marathon held every year on January 2 and 3. It is considered the most prestigious collegiate long‑distance race in Japan, watched by millions on TV every New Year as a New Year tradition.

The JAA Advertising Awards―Consumer-Selected Competition is a comprehensive advertising award in which no advertising industry professionals are included as judges; instead, consumers—the audience receiving the advertisements—evaluate the entries based on their own impressions. This year, a total of 996 entries were submitted across four categories: Film Advertising, Audio Advertising, OOH Advertising, and Print Advertising. SECOM’s commercial was selected as a Medalist (award-winning work) in the Film Advertising (Medium Length) category.

The awarded commercial depicts SECOM personnel protecting safety along the race course, shown from a memorable rear-view perspective as many spectators cheer from the roadside. It is a commercial filled with SECOM’s commitment to supporting the grand stage of the Hakone Ekiden through its security operations.

Broadcast during the Hakone Ekiden period, the commercial received strong positive feedback for its portrayal of SECOM supporting the safe operation of the event.
