PRESS RELEASE

Providing Security Service and Contributing to Safety and Peace of Mind at Expo 2025

SECOM Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Yoshida) provided security services for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (@EXPO 2025), held from Sunday, April 13 to Monday, October 13, contributing to the event by delivering safety and peace of mind.

Mainly responsible for security inside the venue and at baggage inspection areas.

To ensure safety and peace of mind at Expo 2025, SECOM established the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Security Joint Venture together with Toyo Tec Co., Ltd. and Shintei Security Co., Ltd., taking responsibility for visitor gate security and on-site patrols. SECOM was primarily in charge of baggage inspections at the West Gate and security operations on the west side of the venue.

In terms of security systems, SECOM deployed advanced solutions including “SECOM VMS,” which centrally manages approximately 2,000 surveillance cameras across the venue, and installed surveillance cameras and access control systems in numerous pavilions. Additionally, SECOM supported safe venue operations by providing the Expo Association with the security robot “cocobo” patrolling the venue, the “SECOM Staff Operation System” managing footage and location data from wearable cameras worn by security personnel, the “AZ-Access” access control system integrating security for the entire venue, and AEDs and other equipment for emergency situations.

Leveraging expertise gained from previous large-scale event security, EXPO 2025 achieved accident-free security operations. SECOM will carry forward this experience as a legacy to pursue further growth.
