Image for the new commercial

Sixty years ago, the United States reached out to one Japanese man. That man was Shigeo Nagashima. Now, there is another man in that same place who is striving to be the world’s best.

Creating Peace of Mind,
Supporting Challenges.

The new commercial features Shohei Ohtani, who is active in American professional baseball, and Shigeo Nagashima, who not only left his own mark as a professional baseball player but has also been a SECOM ambassador for 35 years.

Ohtani stands on the pitcher's mound opposite Nagashima, who is facing him in the batter's box as his younger, iconic self, recreated with CGI. This is a dream collaboration between Ohtani, who is currently making a significant impact in the US, and Nagashima, who was once made an offer by American baseball for a transfer. As the audience focuses on the screen, they will wonder: where will Ohtani’s ball go? Please enjoy this moment while imagining what will come next.
The CGI model of Nagashima was created based on his heroic appearance from the era that propelled him into baseball stardom, while also incorporating input from his opinions regarding various historical materials. Furthermore, Ohtani and Nagashima also performed together in the voiceover for the closing of the commercial, saying, “SECOM—Have you got it?”

The catchphrase of the commercial is ‘Creating Peace of Mind, Supporting Challenges.’ It expresses SECOM’s commitment to providing peace of mind to those who continue to take on challenges every day.

CM Story

“Sixty years ago, the United States reached out to one Japanese man.” With Ohtani’s narration, the uniform number 3 appears where Ohtani is looking. Nagashima recreated with CGI in the likeness of his active days, stares back at Ohtani with a calm expression, as if returning his gaze. With Ohtani on the mound and Nagashima in the batter’s box, the people of the audience, both those excited by the tense showdown and those quietly observing, are focused on the monitor. “Now, I continue to challenge myself in that same place,” narrates Ohtani as he throws the pitch. This pitch symbolizes a challenge from the future to Nagashima, who once had the opportunity to go to the US, while paying respect to the man who has tirelessly contributed to the development of Japanese baseball and earned the nickname of “Mr. Professional Baseball.” The message, “Creating Peace of Mind, Supporting Challenges,” declares SECOM’s commitment to supporting the challenger’s spirit and creating a secure environment. The commercial concludes with both Ohtani and Nagashima’s narration, “SECOM—Have you got it?”
